Minster in Bloom

Minster-on-Sea Parish Council reminds us that it is that time of the year again when keen eyed gardeners will be out and out in Minster looking for the best gardens or creative displays. Yes, preparations are well underway for this year’s Minster in Bloom competition and the Minster-on-Sea Parish Council committee chaired by Cllr. Jill Stimson is gearing up for another successful event. ‘Mad Mike’ is also working hard behind the scenes to support the team as he always does.

The competition is open to all Minster residents. If you are one of Minster’s green fingered stars and you think you have a winner, you can even nominate yourself. If you feel someone else’s garden or creative displays deserves an award, you can nominate them too. You can also nominate Minster’s best business or community effort. To stand any chance of winning the front garden or creative display needs to look its best from now until 15th July 2018. To enter, telephone Maeve on (01795) 873831 or pop in and speak to her in person in the parish office in Love Lane, Minster from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10 am and 12.30 pm.

Don’t hesitate, enter today! You could be one of this year’s lucky winners. There are four categories: (i) Best Garden, (ii) Best creative display which includes small areas, balconies and other creative efforts, (iii) Best Business and (iv) Best Community Effort.

Winners will be invited to a special awards ceremony on Friday 17th August 2018 at Minster Working Men’s’ Club where they will be presented with their prizes by the Mayor of Swale or his substitute.
